Project Information
Background
Researched Nutritionals is a global B2B and B2C brand of healthcare supplements dedicated towards empowering healthcare practitioners and patients with high-quality, efficacy-proven products. Started by Dennis Koen, they are a leader in the health and wellness industry.
The Challenge
Researched Nutritionals needed ongoing UX/UI consultation to help optimize their e-commerce website for higher conversion rates and better relationship-building with their HCP (healthcare practitioner) primary audience.
Our Solution
Since February 2024, we’ve engaged with Researched Nutritionals within an ongoing design support retainer to not only revamp key areas of their website, but also build and steward a scalable design system for future website growth.
Product Display Page
For our first project with Researched Nutritionals, we were slated to update and revamp the Product Display Page so they better inform buyers about the products and their benefits. With their original PDP being a standard WooCommerce template, we not only wanted to elevate the experience with more narrative-building UI and interactivity, but we also wanted to ensure all products would be covered with the new template style. Taking a component-based approach to the template allowed us to begin creating the Design System library.
UX Wireframes allowed us to narrow down content layout and structure prior to any visual design. Working off the current branding, we found opportunities to create more flexibility with colors and typography, as well as introduce new standards around UI interactions.

Home Page
When it comes to e-commerce websites, the home pages are essentially a brand’s digital storefront. It not only needs to look and act the part, but also direct buyers towards getting what they need. After taking a quick audit of the Researched Nutritionals home page, we noticed it had a number of issues, ranging from design inconsistencies to header tag misuse in development. Additionally, there wasn’t enough engaging content that helped solidify their brand positioning or value prop.
Building off of the work we started with the PDP, we created a new content strategy for the home page that spoke more directly to the brand’s story while directing buyers to their products. Immersive sticky-section scrolls made room for more in-depth narrative building around the company’s dedication towards innovating on products that work for everyone.

About Researched Nutritionals
Whether large or small, every business was created with a distinct purpose. This was no different for Researched Nutritional’s Founder and CEO, Dennis Schoen, who started the company to create science-backed health supplement products that simply worked for their patients. With a clear mission and vision for the company, it needed to be presented in a more spirited and brand-unique way.
Building on the Design System we created, we worked with the Researched Nutritionals team to craft an immersive scrolling experience that underscored the company’s purpose and calling.

Landing Page Templates
To help empower their paid search campaigns for key products, we worked with the Researched Nutritionals team on building separate component libraries for marketing landing pages. Executing this from a component-based approach was particularly important to ensure that we’d create components and patterns based on the content they needed/wanted to present. Additionally, interactive charts via the Grafina plugin allowed for an upgrade from the static images produced in-house.
The next step for this? Creating variant landing page components for HCPs that are affiliated with Researched Nutritionals. With small variant add-ons to the landing page components, we were able to give HCPs the abillity to lead with their background and expertise while also highlighting their favorite products.
