New Client Work: Copley

The studio’s been hard at work on a bunch of exciting projects this year, but this one takes the cake. With a content strategy and UX driven to show value, an updated design system, and a new website built to scale into the future, we’re excited to congratulate our clients at Copley for their new website launch.

Copley is a Boston-based, early-stage AI startup that aims to change the content creation game for e-commerce businesses. Founded by three Klaviyo alumni, their AI-native platform integrates with their clients’ key touchpoints like Klaviyo, Shopify and Meta accounts to both learn and generate compelling, on-brand content and ads—a marketing agency in their clients’ back pocket.

Let’s dig into what made this project special.

A Strategy Built For Bold Vision

We worked with the Copley team within a UX sprint to help bring their story and overarching vision to the forefront of the website experience. This entailed low-fidelity prototyping, information architecture workshops, and additional industry research. With a beautifully-designed visual identity system by our friend, Charlie B. Coombs, we already knew there was a great foundation to work with, and it was all about leveling up the narrative to that of the design.

This principle not only came through the design of the home page and their product page, but also through the revamped Blog, Pricing and FAQ pages. Customer Stories would allow Copley to show the value they’d built for their clients and bring more leads to their door.

Sleek, Yet Scalable Design

Working from their base WordPress theme styles, we created a brand-new UI design system that spoke to Copley’s efficient and modular workflow, as well as their bold vision. Aside from the reshaped color palette system to the bento-inspired flexbox layouts, we brought in motion as an additional pillar to their design language because we felt that—above anything else—the experience needed to feel smooth, immersive, and effortless.

Built To Grow. Fast.

Copley is all about leveraging AI to bring companies faster to market. As with any startup, we know what it means for them to push to live quickly and efficiently. To honor that sentiment, we built the entire design system as a new Gutenberg Block Theme with pre-existing styles from their previous theme. This allowed for faster block pattern and page building on our end, as well as easy content iteration on their end.

To top it off, we leveraged GSAP (Greensock.js) for our sleek, responsive on-scroll interactions. Not only does GSAP have some of the best interactions out there, but it also has great documentation for web accessibility—something that we’ve been extremely passionate about within our studio’s practices.

Special Thanks

As we wrap this up, we want to congratulate the Copley team for their new website launch, and thank them for a truly seamless collaboration. A special shout out to our web development partner, Brianne Hinchliffe, for pulling off some (quite frankly) herculean Javascript development efforts on this project. Finally, special thanks to Charlie B. Coombs for making this collaboration possible.

The new case study will be up soon, so stay tuned! In the meantime, you may view the new website here.
