It’s no secret that in 2026, the creative and tech industries have been, shall we say, weird. It’s never been weirder for anyone, but especially for young designers and design students who may be wondering if they’ll ever get a fair shot. With that in mind, we’re announcing that we’ll be offering monthly Portfolio Review slots to help advise, realign, and reinvigorate young designers for their current or future job search.
What this entails
When I was in my senior year at design school, we called these “Informational Interviews.” We would link up with a professional, talk about what our career aspirations are, and then review our current projects for feedback.

Why sign up for one?
These reviews were huge for me because it made me feel like I had steps to improve my work and better my chances. Over time, as I began my journey as a studio owner, I found these to be even more beneficial because it allowed me to think more objectively about my work and the kind of impression my collective portfolio was giving to prospects. To this day, I still request the occasional review from colleagues I trust and leaders I look up to.
As design students or young graduates, you may have been having trouble even getting an interview, let alone hearing back or getting constructive, objective feedback. This can be extremely demoralizing during a moment in which you’re trying to build up the future “you.” As both a former adjunct professor and a designer who graduated into similar circumstances, this is something I take seriously and I want to help with.
