Project Information
Background
Garden Remedies is Massachusetts’ first-ever cannabis dispensary, founded with the mission of providing convenient access to high-quality cannabis products for people suffering from chronic illness and pain. Since then, it has become the state’s leading dispensary with products for both medical and recreational purposes.
The Challenge
Having experienced growth in a number of areas, the Garden Remedies found itself transitioning from a product brand to a parent brand with a number of widely-popular products within it. This change in brand architecture required Garden Remedies to present itself more clearly as a “house of brands” to their consumers. As a result, the small-yet-mighty marketing team at Garden Remedies required design assistance across its channels—from in-store retail and events to digital marketing support.
Our Solution
We partnered with Garden Remedies within an Ongoing Design Support retainer, serving as both creative consultant and design lead. Working alongside the Garden Remedies marketing team, we executed on a number of deliverables made to reinforce the change in brand architecture, as well as elevate the branding of both parent and child brands across print, packaging, web/digital and tradeshow presences.
Master Email Template Design System
As a cannabis brand, Garden Remedies needs to continuously engage its consumers with new promos and content. Email campaigns have been a crucial component of this, but their previous email templates weren’t built with best practices in mind—making production time and measuring analytics harder for them.
As our first project, Santoro Design worked to create a brand-new design system library for all types of email blasts. Global components were then built within Alpine IQ so they could be used for future campaigns. Not only did this streamline workflows for asset creation, but this also helped better visualize campaign effectiveness.
JOEI Smokeless Cannabis
JOEI Smokeless Cannabis is a cannabis brand for the consumer on the go. Their dynamic lifestyles constantly keep them in motion, and when the pressure is on, they need to feel like they’re in flow and in the zone.
Santoro Design worked with the Marketing Team at Garden Remedies to create the vision around the JOEI Smokeless Cannabis brand. This included a flexible identity system, brand guidelines, packaging systems for mylar bags and plastic containers, and a landing page.

As part of our Ongoing Design Support Retainer, we’ve been working with Garden Remedies on refreshing their current website experience. While they went through a website revamp in Q2 2025, there were areas of the website that required consultation. After going through a website audit, we found a number of issues ranging from responsive functionality, site vitals, UX and UI best practices, and Accessibility. We felt like we could help make a difference and start making their website work better for their customers and them.
Corporate Website Design System & Home Page Revamp
What started as a small refresh of the home page turned into a build-out of Garden Remedies’ first website design system. With a library of reusable, responsively-designed components built from clear visual design foundations, we were able to start streamlining their workflows for more efficient internal approvals and builds.
NECANN 2025 Tradehow Exhibition
The New England Cannabis Convention Series (NECANN) convenes every year to bring the biggest and newest names in the New England cannabis industry. From dispensaries to flagship product brands, it’s an opportunity for industry professionals to connect with new partners and promote their brand on a large platform. For Garden Remedies and their house of brands, this was no exception.
After looking at booths from previous years, we were able to work with the Garden Remedies Marketing team to create a more unified and streamlined booth presence under the “Grown By Garden” branding initiative. This also included custom apparel design for staff members, including a gnome illustration that made its way from stickers into a life-sized standee cut-out. All together, this made for Garden Remedies’ most successful showing to date.
